Lazio start 2010 with new spirit and some new deals. As we know, January transfer windows have been stopped and Lazio sign 6 players. 3 of them were transfered in the very last day of the windows transfer. Bravo Lazio!!

Let's I introduce you one by one

1. Sergio Floccari

A good transfer from Lazio, in his debut he made 2 goals. The 28 years striker from Genoa in loan for six month with option buy in 10 million euro the end of session.

2. Gonzalo Barreto

The striker who just celebrated his 18's birthday on 22 January. This Lazio bought him in the beginning of this session, but according to FIGC rules, player who under 18 can't play in professional competition, include serie-A.

3. Thomas Hitzelperger

Like his nickname, The Hammer, he have a good cannon ball, another good signing from Lazio. He came from his old club, Stuttgart, as a captain, but his performer already down. But all laziale and himself hope that he performance will be back as usual.

4. Giuseppe Biava

One of the Lazio late signing in this winter. His confirmation make some fans happy, because what lazio's need in this time is a good defender. although now he is 33 year's old, but his experience in football, especially in serie-a, will help other young defender like radu and diekitie.

5. Andre Dias

Another defender and late signing from Lazio. Need for defender make Lazio very enthusiast to arrive some defender, and the result they get Andre Dias from Sao Paolo in very last minute. He joins with contract 3 and half years, he brought Sao Paolo win league tittle in 2008 and 2009, also He was awarded Bola de Ouro.

6. Eyal Golasa

A controversial transfer from Lazio in this winter. Before he signing with Lazio, hi had contract with Maccbi Haifa, but in other word he is free agent and his contract had problem since he is a yaoung player. Now he is 18, and ready to join Lazio's Primary team.

Cribari make a controversial statement after Lazio was beaten by Chievo last night. Cribari, who join Lazio from Udinese in 2005, said that he will leave Lazio in the end of this season. Reginna are rumoured to be interested in signing the 28-year-old stopper.

“At the end of the season I am leaving,” said the Brazilian, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

“I was not happy about the substitution and the whistles of the crowd,” Cribari stated, “I know I made a big mistake in the first half, but I really felt picked on. “I promise to give everything I can in my last few games, but then I want to leave. I don’t even care if [Lazio president Claudio] Lotito does not pay me all my wages, I am out of here.”

Lazio's Victory already Stop

Lazio was still in win atmosphere when they met Chievo. The Match start with some ceremony to respect the ex-president Ugo Longo who passed away someday before the match. Some of the Lazio player promise that they will give victory over Chievo for Ugo Longo. Chievo take inniative to attack lazio in early of the match. On 26 minutes, Chievo take a lead with a goal from Bogdani, who substitue Makinwa because of got hamstring. One minute later Chievo added their goal from Pellisier, and took lead 0-2. In the end of the first half, Zarate tried his luck with make shot, but Chievo's goalkeeper already ready to save the shoot.

In second half, Rossi change Brochi and Pandev with Mauri and Rocchi to add the attack power of Lazio. A few minutes after the second half start, bogdani make good oppurtunity in front, he one on one with Lazio goalkeeper's Muslera, but he waste it. On 65 minutes, Kolarov got red card because of tactical foul over Yepes and 7 minutes before the game end, Chievo unsure victory over Lazio by the second goal from Pellissier. Lazio lost 0-3.

Marcello Lippi watch Lazios' Training

Lazio have hit a good vein of form, winning their past three matches against Lecce, Bologna, and Juventus in impressive manner. Make Italy's coach Marcello Lippi intersted with some of the player.

The most likely candidate for a call-up would be midfielder Pasquale Foggia, who has been instrumental in Lazio's recent success. Meanwhile, other possibilities could be young left-back Lorenzo De Silvestri and striker Tommaso Rocchi, who scored against Juventus.

Foggia already have two caps when he played under Donadoni. Whereas Rochi participate in Olympic games and also 3 senior caps. And Silvestri, he only played with U-21 national team.

Lazio came into this game with renewed confidence, following successive Serie A victories over Lecce and Bologna and, with a UEFA Cup slot on offer through the Coppa Italia, Delio Rossi fielded a very strong starting XI. Tommaso Rocchi partnered Goran Pandev in attack, as Mauro Zarate was suspended. Stephan Lichtsteiner returned at right back, with Lorenzo De Silvestri making way.

Juventus had next week's big Champions League return with Chelsea to think about, but Claudio Ranieri still put out a number of big guns, with Amauri and Vincenzo Iaquinta up-front. Alex Manninger was given a run-out in goal, while Momo Sissoko partnered Tiago in the centre of midfield.

First Half

Juventus made a fast start, and were inches away from taking the lead within a few minutes as Iaquinta swept just past the post from Marco Marchionni's low cross.

Iaquinta's pace was causing problems for the home defence, and the Italy international cut in swiftly from the left on 15 minutes and forced Nestor Muslera into a low save.

Lazio then had their first real attempt of the game, as Rocchi fired a vicious volley straight at Manninger from 12 yards out.

On 18 minutes, Juventus had the ball in the back of the net as he slipped the ball past Muslera, but the linesman flagged for offside. Replays appeared to suggest that Iaquinta was probably level with Lazio's last man.

Juventus were having the best of the play, but Lazio occasionally threatened, and Matuzalem and twice Aleksandar Kolarov both unsuccessfully tried their luck with long-range left-footed shots.

On 34 minutes Juventus broke the deadlock. Cristian Molinaro's cross was poorly headed out by Manfredini, and the ball fell to Marchionni on the edge of the box, who controlled and volleyed past Muslera, with the aid of a Kolarov deflection.

Lazio almost hit back immediately, as Rocchi raced in behind the defence, but Manninger did superbly to push away the ex-Empoli man's goal-bound shot.

Manninger did even better minutes later, as the Austrian flew to his right to make a stunning stretching stop from Cristian Ledesma's free kick, which was destined for the top corner.

Lazio were really searching for an equaliser before the break, but Rocchi's cross fizzed agonizingly across the six yard box, away from the reach of the incoming Foggia.

Second Half

Lazio started the second half where they left off the first. First Matuzalem fired wide from distance, and them Rocchi nipped in front of Olof Mellberg but could not direct his shot on target.

Matuzalem was having shot after shot in this game, and he lashed wide yet again on 56 minutes following a poor defensive clearance.

A Lazio goal was on the cards, and it duly arrived on 65 minutes. Manninger made a fine save to deny Lichtsteiner, but he could do nothing on Pandev's follow-up.

The home side were rampant now, and only Manninger prevented a second goal, as he brilliantly tipped over Foggia's piledriver.

Foggia was terrorising Molinaro down the right in the second half, and the ex-Cagliari man then crashed a free kick against the bar.

The home side continued to dominate, but the ball just would not go in. Substitute Stefano Mauri was the next to hold his head, as he volleyed inches past the post.

Lazio finally, and deservedly, found their second goal with 13 minutes remaining, as Rocchi darted in behind Chiellini, and slid the ball under the onrushing Manninger.

The Biancocelesti eased up a touch after this goal, but Rocchi just could not stretch enough in injury time to get onto the end of a right wing cross.

Lazio will be delighted with their second half performance, but all is still to play for in the second leg in Turin.

Lazio - Bologna 2-0

After many matchs without making a goal, Zarate was back. He made 2 goal in match againt Bologna.

Two excellent goals were the difference between both teams in a highly entertaining clash at the Olimpico on Saturday night. The Rossoblu fought hard, but their finishing was not up to scratch on the night and they were made to pay. The win sees Lazio sneak further towards the Champions League places, while the Emiliani continue to struggle down at the wrong end of the Serie A table. Bologna have failed to win here for the last 12 years. Zarate was like a bus, the goals haven't arrived for 75 days and then two came at once.

First Half

Lazio hadn't won at home for over two months and Bologna came into the match fancying their chances. It was the Rome-based side who began with more intent, Pasquale Foggia's early strike reflected this. However, the left-foot finishing went flying high and wide of the Francesco Antonioli's goal. Delio Rossi has been underfire recently, but he seemed relaxed on the bench as his players began to batter Bologna's goal. A flurry of early chances ensured an entertaining start to the match. It was Foggia who tested Antonioli again with a powerful strike. This time the ball was on target and the goalkeeper needed two attempts to save it. Lazio kept on coming.

Bologna could hardly string a pass together as they struggled to impose themselves on the game. Goran Pandev screamed for a penalty, but appeals were waved away after he was brought down in the box by Manuel Belleri. The challenge was hard, but it wasn't enough to warrant the spot kick. Foggia continued to lead the charge. The winger was outstanding as he took on Salvatore Lanna and cut inside the former Chievo man. He made space for himself to shoot with his right foot, unfortunately for Lazio the effort spun around the wrong side of the far post.

Mauro Zarate began to find his feet and he showed all of his prowess when being fed by Christian Brocchi. The Argentinean hitman turned on a sixpence and struck a curling ball towards the bottom right corner. However, Antonioli was forced to scramble across goal to keep his side from going a goal down. The Emiliani kept on struggling. Both teams cancelled each other out in a display of good defending from the away team and great pressing from Lazio. The Rossoblu's only chance fell to captain Claudio Terzi. A dangerous ball was whipped in from the right Francesco Valiani but Terzi's header was inaccurate and fizzed wide of the mark.

It was always going to take something special to break the deadlock and it was Zarate who provided it for his side. Gabi Mudingayi fouled Pandev on the edge of the box and the referee awarded the free kick. Zarate stepped up and left Antonioli to watch the ball float over his wall and into the net. The keeper hardly moved, he was left struck by the stunning strike. The Argentine scored his first goal since November, and it was his ninth of the season.

Second Half

Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was not satisfied and it showed. Whatever he said at half time must have worked as his side came out fighting. Sanchez Cribari came in too strong Di Vaio and conceded the free kick. Sergio Volpi stepped up, but his effort was weak and cleared.

Lazio seemed to sit back, Bologna's wholesale substitutions worked as they tried desperately hard to get back into the game. Although Bologna raised their game, they were missing spark in midfield. There was no incisiveness and, more worryingly, nobody to lead by example. Top scorer Di Vaio didn't seem his usual self as he struggled to leave his mark on the game.

As the game moved end to end, it was Lazio who looked more likely to scoring. Zarate should have buried the game when he beat the offside trap to run through. However, his lack of ideas allowed Terzi to narrow the angle and the eventual shot spun off via a wicked deflection. With Bologna chasing the game, the Biancocelesti were just happy to sit back and soak up the pressure. The home side were always dangerous on the break, but they kept on failing in the final third.

With Rossi's men wasting chances, the Rossoblu grew in confidence, but some poor finishing added to frustration as the clock ticked on. Lazio kept on misfiring and coach Rossi took off Pandev and introduced Tommaso Rocchi into the fray. The decision paid off as the former Empoli man played a briliant return pass to Zarate for the striker to grab his and Lazio's second. The Bologna defence stood still as both men worked their magic to kill any hopes the away side had of salvaging a point.

Lazio till I Die

The cold wind pierced through my scarf like needles. My body shook uncontrollably and I was freezing my ass off in the stands. For a Singaporean who has never experienced winter, this was one hell of an experience.

In case you are wondering where exactly I was, I am referring to one of the best football stadiums that hosted a FIFA World Cup finals, Rome’s ‘Stadio Olimpico’. This majestic stadium is also home to the football team that I have supported since I was 11. ‘SS Lazio’.

Affectionately known as the ‘Biancoceleste’ (White and Blue in English), Lazio played Torino on week 24 in the Serie A championships and I was in Rome to witness this clash that I had spent six months planning.

Fresh air gushed into my lungs as I paced up the stairs and entered the stadium for the first time. The scene that greeted me was explosive! It is definitely more beautiful and impactful than what I see on television. Speechless, I suddenly felt so closely connected to the team that I have cheered and cried for all these years. Waves of emotions rushed over me, and words could hardly describe how I felt about being right there with my team then. Shedding tears of joy, I told myself, “It is worth it even if it means I am going to freeze to death”.

My childhood dream would not have been realised if not for the help of Paolo. Like me, he supports Lazio and is a native Roman. I met Paolo in the forum on www.laziofever.com, which is a website for English-speaking Lazio fans all over the world. I was worried that I could not get ticket for the match due to last minute changes on the fixture made by the Italian Federation, and Ermetico (Paolo’s nickname) answered to my SOS call on the forum. He helped me to get the ticket I needed and even drove me to the stadium for the match. It was also during the journey that I discovered that he is a stadium announcer for Lazio and offered to introduce me to the players after the game!

This was more than I had bargained for, as I was only expecting to catch the game live, and never in my wildest dreams would I have expected to get the chance to meet the players in person! It sure was a pleasant surprise and I was touched by his kind and humble gesture, especially since he has never even met me prior to this. The lengths that he would go to to help a fellow Lazio fan whom he met on the internet was just incredibly touching!

So there I stood, amongst the thousands of fellow Lazio fans. Whistles resonated from every part of the stadium. Before we knew it, Torino had taken the lead with their first shot of the game! We were in a state of disbelief. From some distance, I could see Paolo with his head sunk on the table, presumably in a state of disappointment.

A cross that was half-cleared by Ousmane Dabo fell to the feet of Ignazio Abate, who took two steps forward and unleashed a rocket from the D that slotted into the near bottom corner. We fought hard but former Lazio custodian, Matteo Sereni, denied Siviglia’s angle drive brilliantly. It was a poor performance and the team was jeered off the pitch at halftime

Stefano Mauri replaced Dabo, who was responsible for letting in the Torino goal, in the second half. Within 90 seconds of coming onto the pitch, Mauri had set up a chance for Lazio’s hit man Pandev, who fell as he tried to cut into the box, but the referee waved play on. To the dismay of all Lazio fans, no penalty was awarded for this. In an instant, insults aimed at the referee could be heard all around me. Especially outspoken was this old man who was seated just behind me, as he hollered, ‘Bastardo!’ ‘Va vancullo!’ He shouted.

And no, I think I had better not translate that.

In spite of the tension during the game, comic relief came when Kolarov, Lazio’s left back, rammed a powerful volley in the referee’s face! The referee tried to get up but dropped to the ground immediately. I had this scene captured live on my digital camera.

After waves and waves of attack, we managed to equalise through some bizarre circumstances. 1-1! Lazio Captain, Rocchi, flicked on a corner kick for Mauri's miscued overhead kick, but Siviglia headed the ball into the net from six yards at the near post. At that, I was up on my feet as I shouted myself hoarse! I could hear ‘Non Molllare Mai’ (Do not give up) being chanted from the ‘Curva Nord’ (North Stands) where the Ultras were seated. The atmosphere though, was still very tense as we were on a four-game losing streak and if we lost this game, we would be in trouble.

Just when everyone thought the game would continue, the scorer of the equaliser, Siviglia ran to where the Lazio Ultras were seated, and put his hands behind his ears, as though trying to tell the fans that he could not hear them. Apparently, this goal celebration angered the fans who have been standing all night long.

The match eventually ended at 1-1 and the commotion grew louder. I met up with Paolo who tried to bring me into the press conference room. However, there was no way we could get in as security personnel were present to stop any angry fans from attacking the president, Claudio Lotito. He is not a popular figure at the moment. Paolo explained that Siviglia was booed because he was taunting the Lazio Ultras and apparently, he had chosen the wrong time to perform such an antic. The postgame tension had thus caused me to lose my chance to meet the president and all the players!

Paolo, who is such an amazing man, told me to wait outside the gates where the players would come out. He made a final attempt to grab the players to take a picture with me. From there, I could see members of the Irriducibile (Lazio Hardcore group) standing outside waiting for Siviglia. Police were everywhere and this Singaporean was freezing his ass off while waiting patiently for a picture with any Lazio player.

Just as I was giving up hope, Paolo emerged with Muslera (Lazio’s goalkeeper) and we were introduced. He is really friendly and we shook hands and had a photo taken. I was over the moon!

I later got to meet two other players, Matuzalem and the Swiss international defender, Stephan Lichtsteiner, who spoke English and even wished me ‘Good evening’. In addition, I was really struck by their humble and sincere attitude. Meeting three Lazio players in person and taking pictures with them is an experience in my life that I will never ever forget.

We went for supper with a group of Paolo’s friends after that. Win or lose, these people will meet up for a get-together after every home match. I was introduced to several Lazio’s Radio Deejays as Gan, the ‘Fan from Singapore’. I do not know if they might find it weird as to why someone from the other side of the planet would support Lazio as fervently as I so, but for me, I enjoyed every second of this ‘get together’. I truly admire and applaud the camaraderie and love they possess for the club, this club that I will always have my heart until I die, ‘SS Lazio.’

Before i start this article, i apologize that i didn't post the match between Lazio and Milan, because i'm really angry with rossi. Sampdoria - Lazio 3-1

In this match Lazio play well in First Half Match, they have some gold chances to make goal but Sampdoria GK could save it. Sampdoria open the match by goal from Delvechio 13', but Lazio's striker TOmassi Rochi make score 1-1 on half hour the match. Second Half match signed by 2 goal from sampdoria, one from Cassano and one more from Stankevicus. Lazio should get 2 penalty in second half, but referee did't give it, and Sampdoria also got 1 penalty but Musrela can save it. First Half

It was the home side who came out quickest with Cassano immediately showing his talent down the left side as he put the shaky Lazio backline under some early pressure.

After 8 minutes Lazio had a great chance to open the scoring. A quick counter attack lead by Pandev was followed up by some silky dribbling within the Samp box by Meghni. When the ball fell to Mauri on the edge of the box the Italian snatched his shot and failed to test Castellazzi’s goal.

The home side hit back immediately and just three minutes later they took the lead when Delvecchio sliced home a Cassano free kick. Lazio yet again displayed their inability to defend from dead-ball situations as the seemingly harmless cross to the back post by Cassano was steered in by a marked Delvecchio.

On 17 minutes Pandev almost levelled the scoring when he skipped past two men in the box, but his subsequent shot was sprayed high and wide over the bar.

Cassano was in fine form as he provided a focal point for every attack. On 22 minutes he won another free-kick in a similar position to the earlier goal. Unfortunately Stankevicius’ subsequent cross was imprecise, and the Lazio defence breathed a sigh of relief.

Lazio began to lose their composure and a number of rushed passes began to infuriate Coach Delio Rossi, who asked his team to play the ball to feet more.

On the half hour mark the Lazio Coach got a response from his side when Tommaso Rocchi levelled the scoring. Ironically it was a precision long ball, floated over the top to Rocchi that setup the move. The Lazio Captain made no mistakes when he controlled on the chest and struck the ball on the half-volley past Castellazzi.

Lazio began to insist, but Cassano had a golden chance to put the home side ahead again when he controlled a wonderful cross-field pass by Ziegler. Unfortunately he had little time to attempt a shot as Muslera rushed off his line to snatch the ball from under his feet.

When the whistle blew for half-time, both teams were left feeling frustrated after failing to capitalise on their numerous chances.

Second Half

In the interval Lazio Captain Tommaso Rocchi was given a surprise early bath when he was substituted for Zarate.

Shortly after, the mercurial youngster almost repaid his Coach’s faith with a delightful chip on the edge of the box, which tested Castellazzi’s reflexes to the limit as his tipped the ball over the bar.

On 50 minutes Cassano produced a moment of sheer brilliance and gifted the home side a vital goal. After skipping past Lichtsteiner on the edge of the box, he took two steps right and launched a rocket into the top right corner of the goal.

Just four minutes later Lazio quite literally fell apart when Sampdoria added a third from a corner. As the ball was whipped into to the box, an unmarked Stankevicius simply had to head past a helpless Muslera to leave Lazio with a mountain to climb for the remainder of the game.

On 58 minutes Cassano went to ground in bizarre circumstances after complaining of stomach pains. The Doria hero was strechered off and then returned to the field moments later appearing rather white in the face.

Sampdoria had a chance to inflict further embarrassment on the visitors when Cassano was brought down in the box by Lichtsteiner on 58 minutes. Bellucci stepped up for the subsequent kick, but it was Muslera who had the last laugh after pulling off an impressive save, to deny the Doria forward.

Lazio tried to pick themselves up, and Delio Rossi threw on Foggia to give his side some added zip going forward. The change had an immediate effect as the Biancocelesti poured forward and pummelled the Sampdoria box.

As much as Lazio attacked it proved to no-avail, as the home side smothered their box with blue shirts leaving little space in which to move.

In the dying seconds a mini-brawl further demonstrated Lazio’s frustration as Sampdoria pulled out their crisis with a confidence boosting win. Lazio were again left to rue some abysmal defending from set-plays, that put their European dreams firmly in the balance.

First Half

Cagliari started brightly and within just 120 seconds Matri was set through on goal by Lazzari. With Lichtsteiner bearing down on him however the Rossoblu forward could only produce a weak low drive which was easily smothered by Carrizo.

Less than 60 seconds later however the home side took the lead. A mistimed pass by Lopez was intercepted by Mauri who gifted a wonderful through ball for Rocchi. The Lazio Captain wasted nothing as he charged toward goal and coolly slotted past Marchetti.

The away side wasted no time in restoring the score line and within two minutes a powerful cross by Lopez was headed home by Jeda. Lazio looked stunned as Cagliari demonstrated their ability to hit back at will.

With little time to get their breath back the home side were behind after Cagliari doubled their lead. Matri turned his marker in the box and produced a delightful chip into the path of Jeda, who headed home for his second.

Cagliari were a team possessed and looked likely to score on every attack. The home side were clearly finding it hard to get to grips with the attacking setup of Allegri’s side.

On 15 minutes Zarate almost levelled the scoring with a wonderful free-kick just on the edge of the 18 yard box. As the ball floated over the wall it skimmed past the side-netting to the delight of the Curva Nord who thought it had gone in.

The game was shaping up to be a thriller with both teams constantly threatening the opposing goals with their attack minded formations.

After twenty minutes Cagliari won a penalty when Carrizo downed Jeda in the box. A wonderful through ball by Conti had set Jeda through on goal, the Argentinean number 1 brought him down and referee Romero wasted no time in booking him as he pointed to the spot. Aquafresca stepped up to slide the ball coolly into the corner and gift his side an impressive early lead.

Just four minutes before the break Cagliari threw the sucker punch when Matri headed home to extended their tally to four. After some good work down the right the ball was floated in for a towering Matri who cleverly headed deep into the bottom corner. The away-side were cruising with the score an exact reverse of the opposite fixture.

Lazio were hurting as they poured forward looking to immediately hit back.

Within two minutes they had a golden chance after being awarded a penalty. Mauri went down after a contact from Marchetti and referee Romero pointed to the spot. It was proving clearly not to be Lazio’s day as when their captain stepped up and blasted wide of the post.

Shortly after the whistle blew for half-time and whilst the teams headed in for the break the Olimpico was amassed with whistles from the crowd. The Lazio faithful were clearly not happy with a first half-defensive display that left a lot to be desired. For Cagliari it was smiles all round, after having scored a third of their away goals this season, in just 45 minutes.

Second Half

After the re-start the home side had another golden chance to re-open the match when Rocchi was felled in the box after five minutes. This time he left the kick to Zarate but yet again Lazio failed to score as Marchetti saved the weak drive. Zarate went on to kick the post in disgust on what was proving to be a nightmare afternoon for the Biancocelesti.

Lazio were not going down without a fight, and just three minutes later Pandev went extremely close after some great solo work in the box. Marchetti was equal to the Macedonian’s chip-shot and there was little Lazio could do to force in the re-bound.

On 60 minutes a wonderful chip from Pandev served Zarate solo in the box. As the young Argentine controlled however the ball appeared to get stuck between his feet and his subsequent shot was just inches wide of the post.

In the final quarter Lazio continued to stream forward but Marchetti was proving prominent between the sticks as he kept the three goal gap between the sides.

With 15 minutes left to play Cagliari could have inflicted further embarrassment on the home side when Matri was set one on one toward Carrizo. Instead of rounding the keeper he attempted an ambitious drive which sprayed wide of the near post.

As the game drew to its conclusion the Isolani had little trouble in containing the home side’s efforts to pour forward. The heavy first-half scoreline had clearly proved decisive and Lazio were being forced to pay for some disastrous errors from the penalty spot.

When the whistle finally blew for full-time, Cagliari were left jubilant after their record win launched them to an impressive 10th in the standings. Lazio left the field deflated after a terrible day at the office that saw them drop to 9th, behind arch-rivals Roma for the first time this season.

Eagles Nesting Upon High

Following five positive results, Lazio enter Sunday’s encounter in fine form as they continue on their journey towards a return to Europe. After last week's 1-1 draw with Scudetto hopefuls Juventus, the Biancocelesti closed the first half of the season on 31 points, a club record during the reign of Claudio Lotito.

In every season under current coach Delio Rossi, Lazio have managed to secure more points in the second half of the campaign. Should this trend continue the capital club look well set to move further up the standings come May. However, given the current competition from fellow Euro hopefuls such as Genoa, Napoli and Fiorentina, the Biancocelesti will be aware that it could prove to be by far their toughest run-in for a number of seasons.

With a number of close rivals going head-to-head on Sunday, Lazio will want to capitalise with nothing less than a victory. A positive result in front of the Biancocelesti faithful could not only launch Lazio towards the top spots, but may help increase the gap on arch-rivals Roma, who now sit a sole point behind in the standings.

Delio Rossi is aware that the longer his side keep a positive momentum going the better their chances are come the spring.

Belated Cagliari Continue To Climb

Despite their abysmal start to the campaign, Cagliari have turned their season around in spectacular fashion rising to 11th in the standings. Considering their early season setbacks, their current form is now on par with the Euro chasing sides such as Genoa, Napoli and Lazio. The Isolani can look back to early October when a hard fought stalemate against Milan jump-started their season and gave Allegri’s men a renewed confidence.

Coach Allegri can almost count the early season setbacks as a blessing after having recently found some consistency in his side. With his Cagliari team now sitting a handsome 10 points clear of the drop zone, they can afford to confront each game with a little less tension and look to consolidate their safety as soon as possible. Should their positive run continue, it could prove to be one of their most successful campaigns since the days of Carlo Mazzone.

Following their 2-0 victory over Udinese at the Sant’Elia, Cagliari will be buoyed by their ability to compete with anyone on their day. Whilst an away trip to the capital should prove to be a sterner test, the Isolani have the added incentive of revenge after being demolished 4-1 by the Biancocelesti on the opening day of the campaign.

Delio Rossi will be without Ousmane Dabo, who picked up his fourth booking of the season last Sunday against Juventus. The good news for the Lazio tactician is the much awaited return of Francelino Matuzalem. A first half goal from Cesare Natali put Torino ahead before Goran Pandev equalised for Lazio and great strikes from Stefano Mauri and Tommaso Rocchi comprehensively won the game for the Biancocelesti

First Half

The game at the Olimpico got underway at a slow pace, but Lazio showed their intent early on, attacking from the get go and pushing towards the Granata goal. Pasquale Foggia looked particularly lively in the early exchanges, and it was the tricky playmaker who came close to scoring in the 4th minute when his pressure forced a mix up between the Torino defender and keeper, allowing Foggia to poke a shot from an angle at goal, but the defence was able to clear to danger.

Five minutes later Torino had a chance, but Alessandro Rosina’s free kick went high and wide of the Lazio goal. The play was characterised by many late challenges and aggressive tackles, forcing the referee to step in, attempting to calm the nerves of those involved. In the 19th minute Lazio had their own free kick opportunity in front of Torino’s goal, but Kolarov’s strike was disappointingly high.

There were few chances in the first half, but Lazio grew in confidence as time went by and their home fans remained vocal. In the 24th minute a good build up from Lazio ended with the ball at Foggia’s feet in the corner of the box, but his finish went agonizingly high of the target. Torino captain Rosina received the first yellow card of the game, after a rash challenge on Foggia. On 26 minutes Lazio.

In the 28th minute Torino took the lead after a cross from Rosina eluded Muslera in the Lazio goal who could only tip the ball on, and Natali tapped in the easiest of chances. Lazio were shocked by the goal, and Rocchi tried to level matters a few minutes later, but his slide into the box after a defensive mistake sent the ball over the bar. Towards the end of the half Diana suffered an injury and was forced to leave the pitch, substituted by Vailatti.

Muslera had a tough time in the Lazio goal, with numerous mistakes showing his lack of confidence in the nets. Lazio were struggling to get back into the game following the Granata goal, and the Biancocelesti seemed eager for the half time break as the referee sent both sides into the change rooms after a minute of injury time.

Second Half

The second half saw a more determined Lazio team take to the pitch in search of the equaliser and it wasn’t long before they had their reward. Three minutes after the restart a great through ball from Mauri found substitute Pandev in the box, and his sweep beat Calderoni and went into the back of the net. The goal gave Lazio a confidence boost, and the home side came close to another goal on numerous occasions early in the second half.

Mauro Zarate was particularly vibrant in the second half, and a few good strikes came off the boot of the Argentinian. In the 55th minute a moment of magic from Mauri put the home side ahead in the game. On a Lazio attack the ball was cleared away from goal and came to the onrushing Mauri whose powerful cracker of a shot easily beat Calderoni and went into the goal, wowing the Biancocelesti faithful in the stands.

The capital club continued to attack and they were putting Torino under immense pressure at the back. In the 62nd minute Torino had one of their few chances of the second half due to a quick counter attack, but Rosina could not beat Muslera and the chance passed away. Two minutes later Lazio continued their attacking onslaught, but they could not extend their lead.

With fifteen minutes remaining on the clock Torino won a free kick on the corner of the penalty area, and from the resulting kick Dzemaili blasted a first strike into the wall, before chipping a second attempt into the area, but Muslera did well to catch the ball. Ten minutes from time Torino keeper Calderoni was saved by the post, as a scramble in the area ended with Mauri’s shot being saved by the keeper onto the post.

Lazio were in control in the later stages, and it seemed to be only a matter of time before the whistle was blown and Lazio could celebrate progression to the semi-final. Despite a few sporadic counter attacks for the Granata, the Biancocelesti looked comfortable and even hit the post two minutes from time through Dabo before Rocchi put the cherry on the top for Lazio with a fine strike from outside the box to give his side their third of the match. After five minutes of injury time and a few scares on either end the referee ended the game with the score at 3-1 for Lazio, sending the home side through to the semi-final.

The Biancocelesti got the match underway in Rome earlier tonight, in front of a packed house at the Stadio Olimpico, and following an extremely frantic opening ten minutes or so, the first opportunity fell to the home side, when Goran Pandev played a glorious through ball wide to Mauro Zarate, who unfortunately couldn’t get a shot away.

Stephan Lichtsteiner and Zarate had great opportunities within the space of two minutes to break the deadlock, as the Juventus midfield in particular continuously gave up the ball in dangerous positions. The home side were edging closer to that opening goal, and at this point it seemed a matter of when they would score, rather than if.

As expected, Lazio did manage to break the deadlock after 24 minutes, when Ledesma’s free kick from a dangerous crossing position sailed over the head of Manninger, following a dreadful error by the club’s number two goal keeper, who completely misjudged the flight of the ball. Lazio took a well deserved early advantage, and restarted the play with real confidence, as they were aware of the undefeated record, when scoring first in matches this season.

Just moments later, Lazio should have doubled their advantage, when Rocchi’s shot in a dangerous position spilled to Pandev in the area, and with the goal at his mercy and Manninger down, the Macedonian international was denied by Lorenzo Ariaudo.

Incredibly Juventus leveled the score line through Olof Mellberg on 30 minutes, who managed to score his first goal in a Bianconeri shirt with a header after a impressive corner by Marco Marchionni. It was to be their first shot of the match, and somehow the visitors were back in it, after just six minutes of going behind.

As the half neared an end, both sides had their moments, however neither looked like adding to their tally. The likes of Pandev, Rocchi and Zarate continued to threaten the opposing defence, whilst for Juventus, Sissoko and Nedved began to impose themselves physically in the match.

Neither side could alter the 1-1 score line, and that’s how it remained at the break, as the sides went in to the dressing rooms level at the half time interval.

Following the secand half match, the half burst into life, as Juventus were the brighter this time around. Firstly Sissoko had a great opportunity to make it two for Juve, after a brilliant run; however his shot was weak and easily dealt with by Carrizo as a result. Amauri also began to have an effect on proceedings, as he had a chance to score from a header, as well as strong claim for what looked to be a penalty.

Amauri tried to work himself into the match after the 70 minute mark, when he possessed the ball for a period of longer than a few seconds for the first time all night. His run was halted by Rozenhal just outside the area however, and as was the case for the large part of his night, the Brazilian born, possibly soon to become Italian international, was unable to have an impact on proceedings.

Just five minutes later, the home side found themselves on a promising counter attack, and when Zarate was played through, it looked as if the Biancocelesti would be able to restore their advantage. The only thing standing in his way was Molinaro however, who did brilliantly to deny the Argentinean from getting a shot on goal. The scores remained level, heading into the final ten minutes of play.

Having said this though, Legrottaglie went close to scoring after 86 minutes, when his effort from all of 25 yards easily beat Carrizo, but was denied by the woodwork, which prevented the defender from capping off a dominant individual performance. Meanwhile, Lazio responded with a flurry of late bursts, as Pandev and Rocchi went close to scoring.

The result leave the Bianconeri on 40 points in second position, three adrift of the leader Inter, whilst Lazio are back in seventh, with 31 points recorded at the half way mark of the season.

Aquilotti Flying High

Lazio welcome Juventus to the Stadio Olimpico for Sunday's big showdown clash and they will itching to cause an upset and help maintain their push for a European place. Claudio Lotito and Delio Rossi, like the players, have worked extremely hard this term and the Old Lady's visit will represent another tough test for the capital-city boys.

The Aquilotti are just three points off the Champions League places and they are well aware a win on Sunday could shoot them towards the all important fourth place. It hasn't always been easy, slowly but surely, the Lazio machine is grinding out results. Last week's enthralling 3-2 win over Reggina in Calabria was largely due to the work of Goran Pandev. The Macedonian's hat-trick in that match saw him equal Mauro Zarate's eight goal haul so far this season in the league. Both players will be fighting each other in the Capocanoniere's chart this term, but that emphasis on Sunday for Lazio will be to take any goal, no matter who scores it.

The Biancocelesti have recovered from their stuttering form. The 3-0 loss at home to Inter in week 15 has been forgotten. This heavy defeat was followed by a draw at Udinese and then two back-to-back wins against Palermo and Reggina respectively.

Their home form has not been perfect. Five wins, two draws and a couples of defeats have been the story of the season so far at the Olimpico. As well as this, the Romans have not managed to beat Juve at home in any of the last three meetings between the sides in Rome. In six games against the Old Lady, Lazio have lost five and drawn once. The records seem stacked against them, but confidence is high in Formello and there is real belief of shooting down the opposition on Sunday.

The Pandev-Rocchi-Zarate partnership has worked wonders in attack, but the problem for Rossi's side has been at the back. Lazio have the worst goals against record out of any of the top 10 teams in Serie A, heading into the game.

The coach will have prepared his players well this week and extra training sessions in defence have take priority. Juventus are one of the top-scoring teams in the league and the Biancocelesti will need to be on-guard if they are to continue flying high.

Onwards And Upwards For Juventus

The Bianconeri have been in stunning form. They have not looked back since their 1-0 loss to Inter in November, having won five on the bounce since then. An incredible 14 goals have been scored and only 4 conceded in those games, statistics which have 'Scudetto Form' written all over them. Juve will head to Rome full of confidence. Four points behind league leaders Inter; a lead that could be cut down to just one by the end of play on Sunday night. As well as this, Claudio Ranieri's men thumped Sicilian side Catania 3-0 in midweek to earn themselves a quarter final place in the Coppa Italia. Lazio have been warned.

Captain and icon Alessandro Del Piero is in stunning form. He was the hero last weekend against Siena with a magical free kick and he added the cherry on the cake with a sweet finish during the Old Lady's win on Wednesday night against Walter Zenga's side. The No.10 played magnificently alongside his heir Sebastian Giovinco and Ranieri could be convinced to start both players this weekend.

Amauri is also looking to add to his 11 goal tally in Serie A this term. The Brazilian sharpshooter missed out on hitting the net last time out and he will be polishing up on his finishing this week as he continues to chase Marco Di Vaio, Diego Milito and Alberto Gilardino in the top scorers chart.

Juve will fancy their chances against the Biancocelesti, but they will need to be on high alert though, especially at the back. Lazio's form does play into the Old Lady's hands as they have already lost to all of Italy's major teams this season. Milan beat the Biancocelesti 4-1, Inter hit them 3-0 and they lost the Roman derby 1-0. The Bianconeri will be hoping to make it a full-house of 'top four' defeats for the Romans.

The good news this week is that David Trezeguet has begun to train alongside his team-mates at Vinovo as his return from injury gathers momentum. However, he is still not 100 percent fit and thus an appearance against Lazio is unlikely.

The bad news is that Giorgio Chiellini and Mauro Camoranesi will miss the game. After missing out against Siena, Gianluigi Buffon played in the midweek clash with Catania in the Coppa and he is expected to resume Serie A duties in Rome.

Pavel Nedved and Claudio Marchisio will return after they were rested against the Sicilians. Jorge Andrade, Jonathan Zebina and Dario Knezevic are still on the injured list while Zdenek Grygera is suspended for the yellow card he picked up last week.

Lazio: Goran Pandev. The Macedonian is on fire. His hat-trick last week will have raised eyebrows at Juventus. His position just behind the front two allows him plenty of freedom to roam around. Look out for his deadly shooting and sneaky runs behind the defenders.

Juventus: Alessandro Del Piero. The club legend has a great habit of scoring against Lazio. Keep an eye out for his free kicks, too. He scored his sixth set-piece of the season last week and he will looking to make that seven against the Romans.

Prediction
Lazio will put up a fight, but the quality, depth and experience throughout Juve's side will see them through. As well as this, the Bianconeri know that any slip ups will dash all the hard work they have put in to be where they are. Ranieri's men are full of confidence and they will head to Rome to perform a professional job. It will be an exciting game with a few goals and controversies but the three points will be black and white.

This match was very interisting, because 2 of regina's attacante is ex-player Lazio, Brienza and Corarrdi. Match was opened by Corrardi from penalty. Therefore Lazio reply by Pandev's attack, and result by 2 goals in 14 and 21 minutes. Zarate show he already improved in this match by give assist to pandev on his second goal.

Lazio didn't stop attack Regina in the second half match, and Rochi almost make a goal on 60 minutes. but afterthat Regina made fast counter attack, Cozza made score draw 2-2 on 63' minutes. Lazio try to took leading, but always failed. As you can see, we have so many player in all position. Some news said that Ayala,Elano and Veron will go to Lazio, but if we look their position defender and the midfielder, lazio still have many stocks. for defender we have lichstenier, kolarov, rozenhal,cribari, diakite, de silvestri, radu, tuia and faroni. Also for midfielder we have foggia, ladesma, mauri, meghni, dabo,brochi, del nero and firmani & matuzalem (still have injury).

If we trensfer veron, elano and ayala, so when our youth player will play. it is important to keep their (youth player) hope still alive, it is to make them have spirit to play. and now they chance to play is big.

Now the important thing place in Rossi's hand, how he put those youth player in team. it was enough to make fault in first half seasons, he MUST learn from it.

hahaha, lazio now is 109 years old. it is too old for the club in Italy. we can say that lazio is brother for italian club. :D

you can see in the video above, what they have done for 109 years.

i hope in this age the management of Lazio will get their target, achieve the champions league for the next seasons.
and don't like "kacang lupa pada kulitnya". especially for zarate, don't be egoist and give other player chance to make goal.

Lazio on Transfer January 2009 (part 1)

Transfer window was started, but Lazio didn't get any player until now. Before trensfer window, many medias in the Europe said that Elano from Manchester City will join with Lazio, and some news said that his heart already at Lazio. as we can see, no transfer happened, just "omdo" (omong doank, bullshit!). And now Veron, the old lazio midfilder. many spaculation said that he will join with lazio. if we look his ability, it's very diffirent from the last time when he joined with lazio. now his too old, but the important thing is he have spirit to play and he can bring his former team win the argentina league. it showed that his abilty haven't end.

In the other part, mutrelli end his nightmare in Lazio. now he moved to bologna (as caoached by mihajlovic). he said that in lazio is the worst time in his career as a football player.

We are waiting what Lazio next move....

Veron: Lazio, Come And Get Me!

The Argentinean spent some of the best years of his career playing for the Rome-based side, winning a number of major honours including the Scudetto.

Reports in the Italian press have linked the player with a return, and it could happen as Veron issued a come-and-get-me plea to Lazio president Claudio Lotito.

"We have to see what happens. I would like to thank Lotito for his kind words," Veron told Il Corriere Dello Sport. "If he has thought about taking me back then I will be very happy. My door is always open and I will never close it.

"However, we have to remember I am still an Estudiantes player. Roma is a fantastic city and I still have plenty to give.

"Lazio fans have always made me feel welcome and even my family love the city. I spent some great years there."

Veron's message couldn't be any clearer as he eyes a way back into Serie A.

The midfielder left Lazio in 2001 for an adventure in England with Manchester United.

Diakite Demands To Stay At Lazio

The central defender is aware that he must improve in all areas of his game, and he is confident he can repay the faith shown by his club.

Lazio’s central defender Modibo Diakite joined the club back in 2006 from Serie B outfit Pescara, in a move that cost theBiancocelesti some €300,000.

It is fair to say that he has struggled over time whilst in the Italian capital, as he has failed to secure a spot in the starting line-up, being used only sparingly as a substitute.

He is aware that he must improve his game if he wants to remain with the club, who are reportedly set to loan him out at some stage in this transfer period.

Despite these rumours however, the player himself has demanded that he be kept in the Eternal City, as he stressed in a recent interview, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.

“I can confirm that I asked the club and my coach to let me stay on here at Lazio,” Diakite confirmed.

“At the beginning of the season there was the chance to leave on loan, and the coach immediately told me that I would be given an opportunity sooner or later.

“This hasn’t really been the case yet, and they have proposed a loan move again. However, I would rather stay and improve here.

“I have to improve in everything, especially my technique,” he added.

“[Delio] Rossi reminds me to always be focused, as I tend to lose my concentration from time to time.

“I have many strengths, so I just have to work in the areas that I am not so strong in, and I will become a good player for the team,” he concluded.

Lazio get their New Year underway with a tricky trip south to face Reggina at the Oreste Granillo stadium this weekend.
